Public Skating
Physical activity and recreation are important to the health of our community, particularly in the winter months. Starting in September 2025, Public Skating and Kids, Caregivers and Senior Skates are offered at the Zurich and Hensall Arenas.
Public skating dates are advertised on Bluewater’s social media pages.
Please note:
- Parental supervision is required for patrons under 12 years of age.
- No sticks or hockey pucks permitted—only skating is permitted.
- CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.
Our arenas are closed December 25th, 26th and January 1st.
Rates
Individual Rate: $2 per person
Family Rate (maximum 4 persons): $5
Kids, Caregivers and Seniors Skate: Free
Schedule
Hensall Arena-starts September 11
Public Skating: Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:50 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 1:20 p.m.
Kids, Caregivers and Seniors: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 11:20 a.m.
Zurich Arena-starts September 18
Public Skating: Saturdays from 4 to 5:20 p.m. and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:50 p.m.
Kids, Caregivers and Seniors: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 11:20 a.m.
Additional skating opportunities exist during holidays and P.A. Days.

Sponsor a skate!
We welcome sponsorship of public skates from individuals, businesses and organizations. Public skating is offered to the public at a cost of $2 per person or $5 per family, but your generous sponsorship would allow these skating sessions to be offered to the public free of charge. Sponsoring a public skate not only provides your business/organization with advertising at the event and on municipal social media pages, but it also contributes to the wellbeing of our community.
