Hensall Community Centre Door and LED Light Replacement
The Municipality of Bluewater is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of a $22,500 grant from the FCC AgriSpirit Fund which will be used to make some energy efficient upgrades at the Hensall Community Centre.
FCC’s AgriSpirit Fund supports community improvement initiatives in communities across Canada with a focus on enriching the lives of residents in communities with fewer than 150,000 people.
The Hensall Community Centre houses one of Bluewater’s ice pads and the adjoining hall is used for various adult and youth programming. The hall is also used by the community throughout the year for different events, making it an important gathering place for the Hensall and greater Bluewater community.
Bluewater’s project will see upgrades made to LED lighting throughout the community centre. In addition, an entry door into the community centre will be replaced. Both projects combined will help improve the energy efficiency of the building with the ultimate goal of reducing the carbon footprint at Bluewater’s recreational facilities.
As noted by Mayor Paul Klopp, “We’re grateful to FCC for supporting these improvements to our community centre. It can be a challenge in small, rural communities to make necessary improvements to facilities and this funding will ensure safe access to the building and continued enjoyment for our community.”
