Council Highlights—May 4

At its Regular Meeting of Council on May 4, 2026, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:

  • Appointed Nathan Latta as Deputy Chief Building Official.
  • Appointed Jake Brown to the Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee.
  • Adopted Bluewater’s Official Plan Amendment No. 24.
  • Entered into a Community Improvement Grant agreement with Meg Connell and Kevin
    French regarding 17 The Square, Bayfield.
  • Adopted a PS 3150–Tangible Capital Assets policy and a Municipal Garden Plantings
    policy.
  • Awarded Tender BW-Fire-01-2026 to Supply and Deliver One 2026 or Newer 1500-
    Gallon Pumper Tanker with Pump and Roll capabilities to Camions Carl Thibault Inc. in
    the amount of $681,151.00 excluding HST.
  • Designated the Bayfield’s Forgotten Felines fundraiser being held at Trinity St. James Hall
    (formerly known as Trinity St. James Anglican Church Parish Hall) on the 29th of May as
    municipally significant as required for the application of a Special Occasion Permit.
  • Repealed and replaced the speed regulating by-law to include the rate of speed on any
    highway within the municipality that is within a built-up area, as defined in the Highway
    Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, to be 40 kilometres per hour, unless otherwise posted.
