Council Highlights—April 2

At its Regular Meeting of Council on April 2nd, 2024, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:

  • Declared Christmas in Bayfield, Bayfield Fair, Bayfield Vettefest, Bayfield Volksfest, Zurich Fair and Zurich Bean Festival to be community events and granted them exemptions from the Noise By-law and the Hawkers, Peddlers and Buskers By-law for the year 2024.
  • Awarded the Request for Proposal for consulting services for the design of the replacement of bridge structure B25 on Ausable line to Driven Engineering Inc. in the amount of $50,557.50 excluding HST.
  • Awarded the Richmond Street North reconstruction tender, Contract No. 22292 to Cope Construction in the amount of $274,998.85 excluding HST.
  • Awarded the tender for Hot Mix Paving of Wildwood Line from Mill Road to Northern Extents be awarded to Lavis Contracting Co. in the amount of $232,300.00 excluding HST.
  • Accepted the request for drainage works on the Shapton Municipal Drain and appointed Streamline Engineering Inc. as the project Engineer.
  • Adopted a Personal Information Bank Policy and an RZone Policy.
  • Adopted the 2024 Tax Rates and Council Remuneration Rates.
  • Authorized the Manager of Corporate Services to enter into a rental agreement with the Canadian Armed Forces for use of the Hensall Arena during their 2024 military training exercise.
