Council Highlights—July 13th

At its Regular Meeting of Council on July 13th, 2026, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:

  • Adopted the Assessment Schedule for the Smith Rader Municipal Drain as presented in the April 30, 2026 Engineer’s report.
  • Approved the addition of the Archives, Heritage and Visitor Centre to the existing directional signage in Clan Gregor Square and that the associated cost of approximately $800 be funded through the Facilities Department Operating Budget.
  • Entered into a Shared Services Agreement with the Municipality of South Huron for Building Official Services.
  • Accepted the resignation of member Ashi Gupta from the Heritage Committee and declared the seat to be vacant. Staff were directed to post public notice for applications by August 14, 2026.
  • Entered into a Source Protection Plan Part IV Enforcement Transfer Agreement with Huron County Municipalities and Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority.
  • Awarded the RFQ for the Supply and Delivery of a float trailer to Miska Trailers in the Amount of $49,055 excluding HST.
  • Directed staff to apply to the Bruce Power Regional Municipal Readiness Assessment Fund to complete a study on twinning the water line along Highway 21; to the Build Communities Strong Fund - Local Impact Stream for refrigeration and mechanical infrastructure upgrades at the Zurich Arena; and to the Ontario Trillium Foundation Seed Grant for funding to support child and youth recreation programming across the Municipality.
  • Approved the reallocation of the remaining Efficiency Funding in the amount of $122,020.98 to the Financial ERP System project.
  • Awarded RFP BW-FIN-01-2026, for a Financial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System be awarded to Endeavour Solutions Inc. in the amount of $335,110 excluding HST.
