Council Highlights—January 13
At its Regular Meeting of Council on January 13, 2025, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:
- Approved the 2025 municipal budget.
- Scheduled 2026 budget meetings on Monday October 27, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., Monday November 10, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. and Monday November 24, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
- Awarded the tender for one new cab and chassis with dump body to Exeter Chrysler in the amount of $100,317 excluding HST.
- Entered into an agreement under the Fire Protection Grant with the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
- Established watering restrictions which include times, exceptions and enforcement.
- Directed the Chief Administrative Officer to negotiate a direct sale of 6 Municipal Road with Zulk Enterprises Inc. and/or another appropriate entity and to return to Council with an agreement of purchase and sale for the further consideration of Council based on the final market value of the comprehensive real estate appraisal report obtained from McIver Group Inc. dated November 21, 2024. The Chief Administrative Officer is to engage legal counsel and other professionals as required to undertake such a direct sale and the Chief Administrative Officer is to oversee discussions with the Bayfield Lions Club and the Bayfield Area Food Bank regarding options to relocate their operations.
