Zoning By-law Amendment to Apply -h Symbol

From time to time, municipal Council will direct staff to initiate a Zoning By-law Amendment to update zoning policies that apply to the land within the Municipality of Bluewater. During the Council meeting on October 7th, 2024, Council directed staff to undertake an application for Zoning By-law Amendment to apply the -h Symbol on specified properties within the Bayfield Settlement area.

Purpose and Effect

The purpose and effect of this application for Zoning By-law Amendment (application #: BLU Z03-24) is to apply the -h Symbol to certain specified properties within the Bayfield Settlement Area to ensure orderly development in line with available servicing. The -h Symbol will be applied only to properties meeting the following criteria:

  • the lot is vacant
  • the lot has no sewer capacity allocation
  • the lot is zoned residential
  • not municipally owned or owned by Department of Fisheries and Oceans

Public Meeting

Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Bluewater will hold a public meeting on Monday, November 18th, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Centre Council Chambers, Stanley Complex, 38594 Mill Rd., Varna, ON N0M 2R0 to consider a proposed zoning by-law amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act.

Council meetings are being held in person, with electronic attendance options (hybrid meeting).
